What is a COA (Certificate of Analysis)

A Certificate of Analysis, or COA, is a document from an accredited laboratory that analyzes the contents of a CBD product and will provide a report that shows the number of various cannabinoids in a product, as well as any THC, metals, and other potentially harmful pesticides.

Manufacturers should send every batch of every product they make to a lab for testing, to protect their customers and prove that their products have as much CBD as they advertise.

Why you should check the COA before using a CBD product

Surprisingly, COAs aren’t always easy to get your hands on before buying a product. Because of this, we've made it very simple for you to find the COA on any of the SOTA Products.

On every bottle of SOTA Derm products, there is a QR code that is linked to our COA database.  Once you land on this page, you will be able to enter the batch number that is found on the bottle, the strength, and the product name which then leads you to a link to the proper COA.  Most iPhones have a cool feature that allows you to open up your camera, hit the 2x zoom button and hold it over the QR code that will take you to the link.  If that does not work, most smartphones allow you to download a QR reader for free in their app stores where can scan QR codes through the regular camera.

Not all states require QR codes on CBD products, but it has become a common practice by reputable companies that want this information to be readily available. If you can’t get a COA from the manufacturer’s website, customer service, or the product label, that’s not good. There may be a reason they do not want you to see their COA.  Most often it is because they do not have the amount of CBD in the product that is advertised or there is more THC in the product than advertised.  A reputable CBD company will always get their products lab tested. A COA is as much for the customer as it is for the company's own quality control.

At SOTA Derm we always test our products for potency and THC levels.

Before you put anything into your body, you want to know what you are getting.  We understand this at SOTA Derm and we take great pride in making sure what we say is in our products, really is in our products!
